Windows 8 Feature Wishlist

View Comments June 21, 2009 | Everton

Although Microsoft don’t intend to make a big splash when launching Windows 7, it will probably be Microsoft’s finest release yet if the feedback from testers and readers on our sister site Windows 7 News is anything to go by.

There’s still plenty of room for improvement in Windows 8.  Mike from the Windows 7 News editorial team has published a series of posts detailing what he’d like to see in Windows 8:

Features Mike would like to see improved in Windows 8 include a better explorer, improved libraries and game support.  Personally I would like to see more options for organising multiple windows.  Aero Peek helps, but I don’t want to go over to the sidebar everytime I want to locate one of the many windows I have open.  There has to be a better solution that ALT+TAB and Aero Peek.

What features would you like to see in Windows 8?

I'm running Windows 7 now and my power options are as follows:
    -Shut Down
    -Sleep
    -Hibernate
    -Restart
    -Lock
    -Log Off
    -Switch User
    That's… um… a few more than two.

Well, yet another one on the drawing board. These people will never get their heads out their behind. Enough with the impressing glass, animation shenanigans, give people true functionality. As a sound engineer with creative Labs i have being petitioning for this for years since Win-ME edition. This long issue is that Windows Need to be friendly with motherboard makers in this regard, especially supporting Dolby Digital SPDIF Out. The technology exist but Microsoft refuse to utilize it. Giving every Windows user only 2.0 output as default. Just LAZZYYY!!!

I meant setup one blog like petition with enabled replies i will take care of the viral linking to advertise this forum to your petition sir. it's about time they hear this i was made redundant by Gigabyte in Taipei last 6 months ago now everybody fell that most of the OS manufacturers overlooked at this very easily. the issue is programming not hardware as most people would think. we made every SPDIF module by following standard properly configured to AC'97 and more all in the box. It's not up to sound card manufacturers but OS architects. the seems to forcefully trying to control the flow of technology in that sense. whether for market strategy or just plain ignorance that beats me…
