They are finally realizing that the free marketing you get from people posting that "Hey check out these leaked screen shots of the new [insert something nifty here.]." is free press for MS. And having a random build that will expire anyways down the road doesn't hurt MS at all. Usually I get weird gut feelings about this but I have no real feeling yet about Windows 8. Logically speaking though look at the Windows 7 timeline and how leaks appeared. I'd think soonest leaks would be April 2010 as Windows 7 RC builds expire or shortly after that. <br><br>On another note for what would be nice as well a smart game plan for Windows 8 would be to take in account of what people want. You have a vast user base of people that use Windows. You have those enthusiasts who like to strip down builds and remove many things to make a streamline OS and others who like the support for legacy software with all the bells and whistles with total disregard for how much space the installation takes. I think it would be wise to go back to a simple less confusing product line. People have griped before about not knowing the differences between all the different flavors of Vista as well 7. I believe there should be Home, Business and Ultimate. No premium to basic to core and so on. Make it simple... Home for home users, Business for the business world and Ultimate for those who want a premium package that covers all bases and more so suited to the Windows Enthusiast. On another level give the option upon install whether the user wants legacy support. They've been talking about dropping all the support for Win95 - Windows XP so have it as an option. Just a simple question of "Do you want support for older software that runs on Windows 95 through Windows XP?" and with that determines the installation. They would be able to save a lot of space and resources by giving users the option to take out legacy support if they don't run outdated software. I can think of many more ideas but I think those would be some big steps for Windows 8. All we can do is wait and see.
