New Windows 8 Feature: My PC My Way
My PC My Way is a new feature of Windows 8. It makes heavy use of sensor technologies to improve the user’s interaction with the operating system.
Microsoft’s leaked documents, which we are not showing for obvious reasons, details several scenarios how My PC My Way makes working with Windows 8 more comfortable.
The first scenario describes a gaming session that gets interrupted by a visitor. Windows 8 will automatically pause the game if the player moves the head or moves away from the PC. Games can make use of location awareness and accelerometer based gaming.
The same scenario describes the adaptive brightness technology that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen depending on the lighting conditions.
The second scenario mentions a user who is reading an online magazine on the PC. Key features in this scenario are touch support (Microsoft says great touch support), location awareness, e-reading and wireless connectivity.
Face recognition based login to PC is the new feature in the third scenario. Windows 8 can automatically recognize the user, perform the login and show the desktop, all without any form of user interaction other than coming nearer to the PC.
Several key scenario features and opportunities are described including gaming, high definition video, e-reading, communication (social networking and Instant Messaging), media consumption and Web browsing.
My PC My Way could become a selling point, providing that the feature offers enough customization and options to prevent unwanted changes to the operating system.

Yeah they already have the lighting adjustment being built into new display models so that feature is redundant and you would still need to buy some sort of light sensor that would work via USB to sense the ambient lighting. All in all that is… FAIL. as for the walking away for games to pause etc hard ore gamers would turn all these features off anyway and the motion sensing “scenario” is just as stupid since you would have to buy new equipment to support this feature which being new would cost too much. The of is already heavily mouse based anyways if that's to much for a user then I fear for mankind. If they just do right by windows 7 then there is no point in a new os. All the features being mentioned could be implemented in a simple patch. Also by to justify calling it w8 would mean significant code modifications that would mean it would not just click in place with the current. Before trying to make a new product how about working on making a flawless or near flawless. Allow people to adapt to whatever have and when they use it up then drop the next one. Making a new os every so many years is stupid and people won't be willing to drop 400 bucks for the next best thing. If this is how they really plan on running their business then throw that money towards ubuntu so it can be made to utilize the hardware of the now and coming.
Yay, this sounds like security heaven….
I think they should concentrate on fixing what they already have before they add more buggy, insecure features like this.

yeah right said recently i purchased a HP laptop for Rs50000 and again in one year a new OS.
These feature must come as service pack for window 7
im rather unimpressed with these additional features. Game lighting?Video surveliance? Focus more on internet surfing, decision making, interactions during browsing and the like. Thats where most of internet users the web. Focus on that. I like the “idea” of having a conversation with the web. Ask something, and the web answers with similar associated content. Seems fun but no one is doing it
All useless features I won’t use unfortunately. Looks like Windows 8 won’t be worth an upgrade for me yet.
