Manager Ronald Koeman has begun to focus his attention on defence, and the Times are reporting on Wednesday that Everton are keen to push through a £25m deal for Burnley defender Michael Keane before the squad returns for pre-season training next week.

Everton's head of recruitment, Steve Walsh, has always been a fan of Keane, and recommended that his former club try and sign the young defender last summer, but their bid was, thankfully, unsuccessful.

United were at one stage interested in re-signing Keane, who was sold to the Clarets for £2m in 2015.

Colorado elections head will withhold confidential data from White House commission
Remember, Trump has said millions of illegal votes were cast for Hillary Clinton last November, though he has offered no proof. Kobach and Trump have both made unsubstantiated claims that large numbers of undocumented immigrants vote in USA elections.

It's starting to look inevitable that Burnley centre-half Michael Keane is on his way to Everton.

As an immaculate defender who is not afraid to get stuck in, he should complement the current Everton set up nicely and ensure they have plenty of strength in depth and options in that area.

Everton have already secured the services of Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in a £30m deal from Sunderland and Davy Klaassen from Ajax for £23.6m.

The same article states that Keane has rejected the chance to return to Old Trafford after Manchester United signed Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica earlier this month.

And while they have paid £7m on Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru, Belgium's top scorer last season, they have loaned him to Anderlecht for a season.

Several outlets have suggested that 24-year-old will sign for Everton in the coming days for a fee believed to be in the region of £25 million.
