Jay-Z's latest album, 4:44, has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America after it was released on Friday. However, by July 2, the album was also offered as a free download - sponsored by Sprint - via the web site 444.tidal.com.

"I want to shoot a shout out to JAY-Z just dropped another muthaf-kin' hot album, 4:44", Snoop said.

Minor injuries after Amtrak train derails near Seattle
According to Amtrak, the 506 train went off the rails at the Chambers Bay Bridge in Steilacoom, just south of Tacoma, at 2:30 p.m. Passengers were safely evacuated from the train, and Pierce Transit buses were transporting them to the Tacoma Amtrak station.

RIAA tweeted the news with a picture of Jay and the company's chairman and CEO Cary Sherman standing beside the platinum plaque for the album. In anticipation of that album's release, the RIAA changed its rules to allow digital albums to be certified platinum on their release date, rather than its previous 30-day waiting period, which allowed for physical units to be tallied.

The album represents Jay-Z's 13th platinum release. Back then, Samsung pre-paid for 1 million copies of that album as part of its deal with Jay-Z for exclusivity, allowing Magna Carta to instantly go platinum.

First issue under Bond Connect by China's policy bank oversubscribed
As of 31 December 2016, the outstanding value of the onshore bond market was US$8.1 trillion, making it the world's third-largest. The first day of China's new bond link to the rest of the world started yesterday, with little in the way of a market reaction.

The competition between Apple, Tidal and the other music streaming services over exclusive content is something that Jay-Z himself references on the new record. The RIAA even bent its rules to accommodate this new form of digital sales finagling; Rihanna then followed Jay's lead with her instant-platinum release of Anti previous year in a similar deal of her own with Samsung. As 1,500 song or music video streams account for a single unit, there had to have been 1.5 billion streams in order to make the certification.
