Two killed as Pakistan violates ceasefire again

India's military said an off-duty army soldier visiting home was killed along with his wife after a shell fired from the Pakistani side hit their home in Poonch sector. The Indian army was retaliating, news agency ANI reported.

Seven civilians were killed when Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Poonch on Saturday. The video was shot in Jammu's Nowshera sector on May 9, Army officials had told TOI, a little over a week after the beheading of two Indian soldiers by a Pakistan army team.

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Sigh condemned the killing of an army jawan and his wife during LoC shelling and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

A family member told our sister station in Cincinnati , the pregnant woman was shot in the leg and lost the baby. Police did not say whether the two men were suspects, and were still investigating a motive for the bloodshed.

There have been 23 incidents of ceasefire violation, an attack by Pakistan special forces team and two infiltration bids in June, in which four people including three jawans were killed and 12 were injured. They claimed that a civilian lost his life.

Indian and Pakistan Armies traded heavy fire on Sunday on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district after Pakistan indulged in unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions.

The deceased were identified as 18-year-old Waqar Younas and 19-year-old Asad Ali.
