  • US Military Plane Crash In Mississippi Leaves At Least 16 Dead

The US Marine Corps transport plane that crashed, killing all 16 troops aboard, plummeted to the ground after "something went wrong" while at cruising altitude, a general said yesterday.

The FBI on Tuesday continued to investigate the deaths of 15 Marines and one Navy Corpsman who were killed when their USA military plan spiraled out of the sky and into the MS filed on Monday.

The plane was carrying fifteen Marines, and Navy Corpsman, alongside moving equipment and personnel from North Carolina to Western Base.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Brig. Gen. Bradley S. James says two main impact areas are separated by a mile, but smaller debris is scattered more widely.

The plane crashed into a soybean field in LeFlore County and killed 15 Marines and one Navy sailor.

William Kundrat served in Iraq, his mother said, and later joined the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command 2nd Marine Raider battalion stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C.

Aerial pictures taken by WLBT-TV showed the skeleton of the plane burning, producing plumes of black smoke visible for miles across the flat landscape of the delta.

"He loved to play his guitar and ukulele for us", Gayle Murray said in a statement.
