Donald Trump wants collaboration and cooperation with Russia: White House

  • Trump Jr. coordinating with Russian Intelligence?

The warning, delivered by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, reflects rising frustration in Moscow over the Trump administration's refusal to hand back two Russian diplomatic compounds which were seized at the same time as some of Russia's diplomats were sent home previous year.

US lawmakers have raised concerns that Moscow might use the firm's products to attack American computer networks, a particularly sensitive issue given allegations by USA intelligence agencies that Russian Federation hacked and leaked emails of Democratic Party political groups to interfere in the 2016 presidential election campaign. Then-President Obama said the resort compounds on Maryland's Eastern Shore and on New York's Long Island were being used for intelligence purposes.

Zakharova complained on Friday that US officials were not issuing visas to Russian diplomats to allow Moscow to replace the expelled employees and get its embassy back up to full strength.

The warning came in response to comments made by an adviser to President Donald Trump, Sebastian Gorka, who linked the rollback of sanctions to Russia's adherence to a deal to cease-fire in Syria.

An administration official will be meeting next week with a Russian diplomat, and there are understandable fears that the Putin-friendly White House will return the compounds.

"If there is no progress, we will have to take retaliatory measures", Zakharova said.

Russia's Foreign Ministry experienced "large-scale" cyber-attacks originating in Iran and Hungary last month, according to spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

In an interview with US media on Tuesday, Veselnitskaya denied any links with the Russian government and said she didn't have any damaging information on Hillary Clinton, Trump's presidential election rival.

"You must have heard about the adventures of some representatives of these services, everything was available to the public - wigs, disguises and installations with performances", she added.

On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned Russia was considering reprisals, but kept the details secret.

Gorka went on about how Trump had "pressed and pressed" Russian President Vladimir Putin about election meddling during their meeting last week, before coming to the conclusion that it's time to just drop it. "(But) if it's the only way to make our American partners understand we will have to act".

"The seized objects have not been returned". As for the measures - the number of personnel at the U.S. embassy in Moscow significantly exceeds the number of our personnel working in Washington. "Since the seizure of these compounds, we are unaware of any evidence or assessment that the treatment of USA personnel in the Russian Federation has markedly improved".
