An official portrait of Prince Charles and Camilla has been released to mark the Duchess of Cornwall's 70 birthday.

Charles and Camilla have been captured by photographer Mario Testino looking relaxed. The famous photographer, hailing from Peru, told BBC that when he first met Camilla, over 10 years ago, he "discovered a kind and attractive person with a wonderful sense of humour". He described the duchess, whose birthday is today, as a "beautiful person".

The picture came as the Duchess of Cornwall vowed to tackle the scourge of loneliness in old age - by becoming patron of Dame Esther Rantzen's charity The Silver Line. Their collaborations have regularly made front pages as Camilla tours the globe and carries out more than 200 engagements a year in her capacity as one of the most senior.
