Everyone in North America (weather dependent) will experience an eclipse, one of nature's rarest shows - even those outside the path of totality. Coming on August 21 we will have a total solar eclipse visible from parts of the United States.

It takes three celestial bodies - the sun, moon and Earth, all on their own orbital paths - to line up in the exact way at the right time to create an eclipse. This is special and unique because the United States only covers about 2 percent of the globe, so we don't often see a full eclipse pass through the country.

"After you see one, you want to see another one". The last total solar eclipse that was visible in the contiguous United States was back on February 26, 1979.

The Palos Heights Public Library (palosheightslibrary.org) is hosting a solar eclipse viewing event from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. August 21. It may not be a complete loss of sun, but a little goes a long way, as temperatures will drop several degrees during the event.

Deputy AG Rosenstein Stands by Decision to Fire Comey
Rosenstein said he would not comment on that specific situation, which was his answer to a number of pointed questions about various topics.

Also that day, the Oak Lawn Public Library's (olpl.org) solar eclipse party will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. and will include video feed from NASA, hands-on activities and Skyping with folks at Shawnee National Forest where totality will occur.

And with technology everywhere, from smartphones to satellites, the eclipse will be captured as never before, and will offer scientists a wealth of new insights on how the Sun works.

Other viewing parties are scheduled at the following spots, again with glasses available while supplies last.

Jason Heaton, The Director of Astronomy at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton, says this eclipse is being termed the Great American Eclipse.

BBCI: US and China emerge from trade talks without agreement
The US blames Chinese excess capacity for a global steel glut that is hurting US producers, and has threatened to impose tariffs. The People's Daily op-ed outlined the political chaos that is prevailing in the USA and dubbed it a failed system.

And Chicago's Adler Planetarium (www.adlerplanetarium.org) is having a giant block party on the day of the eclipse.

Eventually, all good things must come to an end, and the lunar shadow will depart the East Coast at 4:09 p.m. EDT.

Homemade filters or ordinary sunglasses, even very dark ones, are not safe to look at the sun with. A satellite party also goes down at Daley Plaza, where you eclipse glasses will also be distributed, while they last, and check out telescope viewing.

WATCH: When will the solar eclipse be visible in your community?

MAadhaar: Now carry Aadhaar on your mobile
Essentially the app will quickly let you share your e-KYC or QR code, which has all the data for verification. That said, the application will retrieve your details only if your Aadhaar is linked with any mobile number.

More than 6,800 libraries across the USA are distributing safety-certified glasses.
