China Considering Military Action Against India

  • China has said India should show through deeds its willingness to maintain peace at the border

"China has made it clear that there is no room for negotiation and the only solution is the unconditional and immediate withdrawal of Indian troops from the region", said a commentary Friday by the official Xinhua News Agency. The Chinese daily said that Modi is gambling with the country's future and the lives of its people, as a war would make China an easy victor.

"We want to give peace a chance and allow India to recognize the grave consequences".

On June 18, over 270 Indian border troops, carrying weapons and driving two bulldozers, crossed the boundary in the Sikkim Sector and advanced more than 100 meters into Chinese territory to obstruct the road building of the Chinese side, causing tension in the area.

The paper said the People's Liberation Army had been moving for the last one month.

It appeared to be an attempt to increase pressure on India, however, along with strongly worded statements this week from China's foreign and defense ministries, as well as in state media.

"The China-Bhutan boundary issue is one between China and Bhutan. If a war spreads, the [army] is perfectly capable of annihilating all Indian troops in the border region", the daily said.

This is a partnership in which those who are passionate about cars will work together to make ever-better cars. The next Corolla will be built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) that underpins the 2018 Camry.

"It is a war with an obvious result", the editorial pronounced.

China has put its foot down and demanded that Indian troops be immediately withdrawn to end the military standoff.

President Xi Jinping is set to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a summit of BRICS nations in the Chinese city of Xiamen in early September and has said he hopes for greater cooperation within the bloc.

The editorial further said, "Modi government's hard line stance is sustained by neither laws nor strength".

On Wednesday, the foreign ministry released a 15-page document of "facts" about the border dispute, which included a map of alleged intrusions and photographs of what it stated were Indian troops and military vehicles on China's side of the frontier. "This administration is recklessly breaking global norms and jeopardizing India's national pride and peaceful development", the article said.

Meanwhile, New Delhi said it continues to engage with Beijing diplomatically to find a mutually-acceptable solution to the Doklam standoff.

High housing costs spur multigenerational households in Canada
Nationally, the number of couples living in households without children grew faster than the number living with them. ONE-PERSON households accounted for 28.2% of all households in 2016-the highest share since Confederation in 1867.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in Rajya Sabha on Thursday said that a solution to the Doklam standoff lies in dialogue and not war.

Earlier, China had emphatically rejected India's interference in its ongoing boundary dispute with Bhutan in the Doklam area and again urged New Delhi to withdraw unconditionally and end the almost two-month long stand-off.

"It has already been more than a month since the incident, and India is still not only illegally remaining on Chinese territory, it is also repairing roads in the rear, stocking up supplies, massing a large number of armed personnel".

New Delhi, however, has not accepted Beijing's contention as it views the status of Sikkim as settled-that is, as part of India.

According to the Convention, the Dong Lang area, which is located on the Chinese side of the China-India boundary, is indisputably Chinese territory.
