The arrow was sacked from outside of the ground which led to an announcement around the stadium saying: "On the advice of our security team - please take cover".

No one was injured and, according to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police, it is believed the arrow was sacked from outside The Oval in Kennington, south London. The game was abandoned at 5.05pm by which time around 1,000 spectators had been informed that they could leave. "The umpires took it out of the ground and took the players off".

The Oval is now in lockdown, with a correspondent at the ground telling the Press Association that security are searching the stands. The ground is in the process of a controlled evacuation. If it is more than mischief-making then we need to find the perpetrators.
