Juan Manuel Mantes, 23, who came with his family to the U.S. when he was nine years old, was deported in February despite the president's previous claims that he would not deport undocumented immigrants who arrived to the United States when they were children.

There are now 800,000 young immigrants enrolled in the program. The program has given almost 800,000 people a reprieve from deportations.

Hamilton commented, "I am proud to join other elected officials in supporting DACA".

"What we have to do is figure out how to have a humane solution to this very legitimate, honest problem, and respect the rule of law", Ryan said. Watch this space for updates on whether DACA will be dumped by Trump.

Here's how to help in Hurricane Harvey relief effort
Kevin's plea comes after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas on Friday evening, devastating buildings and leaving huge floods. Kevin Hart is leading the way - and calling out his friends to step up.

Daniel Garza, president of the Libre Initiative, told Fox News that DACA offers a "reprieve from a life of uncertainty for innocent kids who didn't break the law".

And joining the program by phone is Isa Rodriguez, an organizer with the Florida Immigrant Coalition, who is working on outreach and education to DACA recipients across Florida. Led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the opponents of DACA include attorney generals from nine states and one governor are using similar legal arguments as those used in December 2014 when 26 states successfully prevented the expansion of DACA.

Last week, the Trump administration signaled it may soon rollback the DACA program, also known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

Marco Dorado, who has been a student government president at the University of Colorado and an intern at Morgan Stanley, remembers the barriers he faced before becoming a DACA recipient. "As people's two-year deferments and work authorization expire they should not be renewed". His family is from Venezuela, but he has lived in the United States for 17 years, and faces immediate deportation if DACA is rescinded.

Already Flooded, Houston Braces As 2 Swollen Reservoirs Are Opened
President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, were scheduled to visit Corpus Christi and Austin on Tuesday. All night, as water lapped into their homes, people had been calling for help, they said, but no-one came.

"If they have any humanity left in their hearts, they should leave DACA in place", said Ms. Fernandez, 29.

Ending DACA means all of these young people would be at risk of deportation and separation from their families and our communities; this would be senselessly cruel. It also estimated that the loss of those workers could cost the country $460.3 billion in economic output over the next decade, with Medicare and Social Security contributions dropping by $24.6 billion.

After the Trump administration in June indicated the program would continue, a group of Republican state officials threatened to sue if Trump did not dismantle it. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is one of the Republicans urging Trump to keep his promise to end DACA.

"We are deeply grateful for Congressman Denham's extraordinary leadership to pass a bipartisan legislative solution to protect 800,000 hardworking Dreamers", added Todd Schulte, President of FWD.us. Now, it appears he has reversed course once again, and DACA as we currently know it will no longer exist. Chuck, we either have a country, or we don't have a country.
