Bettencourt passed away in the early hours of Thursday after suffering from dementia at her old age.

L'Oreal cosmetics heiress Liliane Bettencourt, listed by Forbes as the richest woman in the world with a fortune of nearly $50 billion, has died at the age of 94.

The sad news was shared by her daughter Francoise Bettencourt Meyersin.
