Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez open to future return as Liverpool manager

Rafa Benitez has refused to to rule out a possible return to the Liverpool dug out one day.

The Spaniard led the Reds to the Champions League and FA Cup success during a celebrated six years in charge at Anfield, and retains strong links with the club and area, with his family still based on Merseyside.

A Benitez team has yet to lose to Liverpool, and Sunday's visit to Newcastle will be his former club's fifth attempt.

However, Benitez says he is happy at the club right now although he will not be rushed into signing a new contract, having penned a three-year deal when taking over last year.
