  • United States pummel Internationals in march toward Presidents Cup

A ruthless United States showed a shattered global team no mercy winning three of the four foursomes matches on Saturday to sit on the brink of a seventh straight Presidents Cup title.

The lead the USA now hold is certainly a big mountain to climb and the global team will look to take advantage of the four Foursomes and four Four-ball matches to take place tomorrow before the 12 singles matches on Sunday. "And you know, with having just as much success as we've had in the past, it's always great to see that matchup pop up and to be able to know that you're playing with someone that you have so much confidence with and also for whenever you're in any situation".

Price will hope a big performance from Day and Leishman in the top match can spark something from those players following on later in the session and in the afternoon.

The writing appeared to be on the wall when Australian Marc Leishman splashed the Internationals' first tee shot of the day into the water.

First up was Keisha Renee , who has performed on tour with Nicki Minaj and previously competed in a season of American Idol . Jennifer noticed that Maharasyi wasn't giving it her all and helped her sing a high note she had found intimidating.

As the worldwide stars remained largely irrelevant, the US enjoyed a boost on what is normally moving day at the biennial match.

The lead US duo of Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth set the tone in the first of four alternate-shot matches on Saturday morning, pasting Jason Day and Marc Leishman by a 4-and-3 count.

Kevin Chappell and Charley Hoffman - two Presidents Cup rookies - set the tone for the United States, thumping Charl Schwartzel and Anirban Lahiri 6 & 5 in the first match to finish. Stricker's dozen may not live up to that billing just yet, but they are closing in on something truly special.

The pep talk worked early on, as Fowler opened with birdies on two of the first four holes to grab the USA duo a 1-up lead. It would render Sunday's 12 singles matches moot and maybe get the PGA Tour out of the sticky predicament of hosting President Donald Trump, who is reported to be attending Sunday's matches (the Marine One choppers running practice landings at this Jersey harbor venue late on Friday would seem to be a strong indication that the Pres will be coming).

Construction of US-Mexico border wall prototypes begins despite lack of funding
It's expected that sometime this week construction of prototypes for President Trump's controversial border wall will begin. Bidding documents say four of the prototypes are to be solid concrete and four are to be made of "other materials" .

The Internationals failed to a win a full point, the first time that's happened since 1994, and the United States extended its lead to 8-2 for the largest advantage after two sessions.

Hideki Matsuyama and Adam Hadwin, International, halved with Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth, United States.

Justin Thomas, following his FedEx Cup victory, continues to ride a crest of a wave and showcased his supreme talent with a bunker hole-out during Friday's fourballs at the Presidents Cup. The International Team is made up of players not from Europe.

Kevin Kisner and Phil Mickelson needed to go a little deeper into the round to beat Emiliano Grillo of Argentina and Jhonattan Vegas of Venezuela in a back and forth match that the Americans win 2 and 1 by taking the 17th hole.

CSKA Moscow vs Manchester United: We have to be humble - Mourinho
It was a stellar performance from United but they were certainly helped by the egregious abuses of CSKA Moscow's backline. How will Manchester United find the energy levels to break down a stubborn CSKA Moscow? .

The amount of depth in the United States team means attempting to close a deficit is such a hard ask for the visitors. Grace and Oosthuizen got it back to all square with a birdie at the 11th, and that's where the match would end at the 18th, with a half point going to each team. "Team USA won the ninth with their second birdie-4 of the match, now 1 UP, before Oosthuizen leveled the proceeding with a 37'10" birdie bang at the par-4 11th, but neither team conjured another win over the final seven holes, halving six of them with pars. Sep. A par by the Amercians was good enough to win the 14th, and a final 8-foot birdie putt by Reed on the 15th closed out the match.
