How Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. Beat Condo Fraud Rap

According to a ProPublicainvestigation, attorneys in the Manhattan District Attorney's office spent two years building a case against the two Trump children, which included emails showing the Trumps knew they were using inflated figures to attract buyers to the condo.
For two years, the prosecutors in the Manhattan District Attorney's office had been building a criminal case against them for misleading prospective buyers of units in the Trump SoHo that was failing to sell, a collaborative article between The New Yorker, ProPublica, and WNYC said.
In August 2010, several Trump SoHo buyers filed lawsuits against the Trump Organization alleging that the two Trump scions had lied to them about the number of units sold and, by extension, the value of the units they bought. (The lawsuit was settled in 2011, The New York Timesreported past year.) Sources told The New Yorker, ProPublica, and WYNC that there are emails showing the Trump siblings knew they were misleading prospective buyers and coordinated what false information to give them.

That situation, however, differs from the story of how Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. By the time Vance made the call, victims had settled their civil suit - with an extraordinary letter indicating they had no interest in cooperating with a criminal case.
Just before the 2012 meeting, Vance had returned Kasowitz's $25,000 contribution to the D.A.'s re-election campaign, saying Kasowitz "had no influence and his contributions had no influence whatsoever on my decision-making in the case". Vance has told the reporting team that he will return Kasowitz's second contribution, as well. He said he now plans to return the donations. Kasowitz then donated to and helped raise thousands of dollars for Vance's reelection campaign.
"In one e-mail, according to four people who have seen it, the Trumps discussed how to coordinate false information they had given to prospective buyers".
But the overall sales deal hinged on the Trump Organization selling at least 15 percent of the units, because by law, the sales couldn't close with anything less. In another email, they anxious that a reporter might be onto them.
In an unfortunate bit of foreshadowing, the Trumps peddled "alternative facts" about the flailing Trump Soho in an attempt to woo new buyers after the property was unveiled with great fanfare on The Apprentice in 2006.
The news that Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump have been using a private email account that was also routed through a Trump Organization server is a fairly clear example of hypocrisy after the ongoing Trump rally chants regarding Hillary Clinton's emails. "In another, according to a person who read the emails, they anxious that a reporter might be onto them", ProPublica reported. Some buyers who felt misled sued the Trump Organization and others involved in the project in NY federal court in 2010. Vance said his campaign accepted the donation because Kasowitz no longer had any cases pending before the office.
