  • Yogi Adityanath participates in BJP's Janaraksha Yatra in Kerala

News18, quoting sources, said that that Modi, Shah and Jaitley had discussed the state of the economy at the meeting, and that a major announcement can be expected before Diwali.

Ahead of Shah's campaign in Kannur against alleged killing of party and RSS workers in Kerala; three BJP workers were allegedly attacked by Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI (M) workers in Kerala's Kasaragod district.

Named "Jana Raksha Yatra", Shah had walked on Tuesday from Payanur in Kannur district with hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party activists and promised to return on Thursday morning to walk past Vijayan's home at Pinarayi.

Mallya, who owes over Rs 9,000 crore to various Indian banks, has been living in self-imposed exile in Britain since March 2016 . Journalist and author Kinshuk Nag has documented how Mallya fled in his book Kingfizzer: The Rise and Fall of Vijay Mallya .

In a hard-hitting speech, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Thursday that the BJP-RSS had terribly underestimated Kerala and its people.

The Jan Raksha Yatra (people's protection march) from Payyannur will travel through the state before culminating in Thiruvananthapuram on 17 October. Balakrishnan said Amit Shah don't have the courage to participate in the Yatra in Pinarayi.

The Left has meanwhile accused BJP of an insidious strategy in bringing Yogi Adityanath to a state where Hindutva politics has never taken centrestage. So that the BJP president is seen to be extraordinarily popular in Kerala, his supporters took to social media platforms showing images of massive crowds, who they implied had gathered to take part in Shah's yatra.

BJP chief Amit Shah launches 'padyatra' against CPI(M) 'violence' in Kerala
The padyatra, aimed to expose the "violence perpetrated against BJP-RSS workers" in the state, was launched by Shah today. We condemn the stone-pelting by Communists and anti-social elements on the bus carrying our party representatives.

Yechury's comments come in the wake of accusations made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As the confusion arose when Shah skipped off, Kerala unit of the party asserted that BJP cadres in the state are more than enough to protest against Kerala CPM.

"It really amuses me that you (Yogi Adityanath) found time for Kerala, despite the fact that a large number of problems exist in UP as per newspaper reports", Mr Vijayan said.

Pakistan manage to stay on top in first Test
At that point, Sri Lanka had their nose ahead in what was until then a race between tortoises and were looking at a handy lead. The 136 set Pakistan was Sri Lanka's lowest defended target, improving on the 168 they set Pakistan in the Galle Test in 2009.

Adityanath also raked up the issue of "love jihad" and said that it was a "dangerous trend" being inadequately dealt with by the CPM government. "The Supreme Court has already passed an order on it and the NIA is investigating it", News18 quoted the chief minister as saying.
