Richard Spencer's event at the university in Gainesville, which prompted the governor to declare a state of emergency to prepare for possible violence, comes about two months after rallies by neo-Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, led to a deadly clash with counter-protesters.

The Miami Herald reports those tickets are being handed out on a first-come, first-served basis by Spencer's National Policy Institute, a Southern Poverty Center-designated hate group.

The man was possibly hit by the protesters and is being escorted off campus by law enforcement. A little before 4:30 p.m., UF's public-safety office announced Spencer had left campus.

Many churches and community centers held vigils to pray for peace and some students even gathered outside of the Phillips Center, where Spencer will speak today, to unite against his ideologies early.

Spencer, a far-right figure, attended the Charlottesville protests, and pledged to speak at other colleges.

The two fought until the suspect's father was able to detain him in the garage, according to a police document. "They were great. A 19-year-old is accused of stabbing his two young siblings and also attacking his father at their home in Colorado Springs.

There were also moments of macabre humor.

"To be a surgeon", a woman responded. "This executive order is an additional step to ensure that the University of Florida and the entire community is prepared so everyone can stay safe".

Student leaders are hosting a "virtual assembly" via Facebook during Spencer's event to discuss race relations and diversity.

"Say it loud, say it clear; Nazis are not welcome here", members of the audience chanted over Spencer's remarks.

Weapons are banned, along with a wide range of other items, including water bottles, masks, shields and hats.

Roger Goodell says players should stand, but league focus on underlying issues
Mara said the owners expect more criticism from Trump, who tweeted Wednesday morning to assail the league's inaction on the issue. Since the meeting, the NFL's commissioner has been asked repeatedly about the anthem.

Spencer seemed to revel in the attention.

As co-editor of AltRight.com and president of The National Policy Institute, white supremacist Richard Spencer has risen to become one of the highest profile white nationalists in America.

He called Thursday's event as a victory, proof "that we are persevering". The apparent resurgence in white nationalism in the USA has sparked anti-supremacists to mobilize with their own efforts, which have included nonviolent demonstrations and pressure campaigns on companies providing services to white nationalists and sometimes violent attacks meant to drive white nationalists out of public spaces.

The organization described Spencer as a leading "academic racist" who "takes a quasi-intellectual approach to white separatism". But protesters made sure he didn't get his platform.
