  • People Are Calling a Rogue Twitter Employee Who Deactivated Trump's Account a Hero

"[If] a temp/contractor can shut down Trump's Twitter acct, what happens when someone hijacks it & "announces" ICBMs headed for North Korea?"

Trump's Twitter account has been under scrutiny, not only because he's the USA president, but because he uses it frequently.

The message that surfaced on Trump's account, however, was not the one that typically surfaces when an account is suspended for a terms-of-services violation.

The company has said that an employee with the ability to suspend accounts deleted it from the site on his or her last day at company.

Twitter in response to concerns said it would be "conducting a full internal review". "Update: We have implemented safeguards to prevent this from happening again".

The teams that are most likely to possess the access to deactivate accounts at Twitter are the Trust and Safety team, who are the employees alerted if a user flags a case of harassment or another safety issue - or the Customer Support team, who are there to help if you find you can no longer access your account.

"When users began to see the message "@realdDonaldTrump does not exist" on the social media platform, they started suggesting that the employee responsible be commemorated with statues, or become a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.

NBC News has reached out to the White House to clarify if any protocols surrounding the president's use of Twitter have been changed as the result of the incident. Steve Gomez, Former FBI Special Agent in Charge and now ABC News Contributor says any disruption to the President's Twitter account could be disastrous.

There's "just a tool that naturally a small group of people for safety and abuse and hacking etc have access to that got abused by one person for eleven minutes", the former Twitter executive told CNN. "I'm not sure anyone at Twitter can tweet from someone else's account".

Though the company initially said the incident was "inadvertent" and caused by "human error", details that emerged several hours later indicated it had been intentional.

No matter - City levelled minutes later as Gundogan's sweet cross was headed home by Otamendi at the far post. Napoli , by contrast, were sharp and produced a number of good attacks in the opening quarter.

The New York Times later reported that the person who took down the account was not a full-time employee but a contractor, with Twitter employing a mix of both.

Early on Friday, Trump tweeted: "My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee".

"Trump's Twitter deactivated for 11 min, and I suddenly thought I'd jumped back into the real timeline where things aren't so damned absurd", tweeted Star Trek actor turned social media personality George Takei.
