Florida State University president John Thrasher announced on Monday that all of the school's fraternities and sororities have been suspended indefinitely, the Washington Post reports.

On Friday, 20 year-old Andrew Coffey, a pledge at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity was found unresponsive after being at an off-campus party the night before. Police said alcohol may have been a factor but were awaiting an autopsy.

In an unrelated situation, on Monday, Phi Delta Theta fraternity member Garrett John Marcy was charged with the sale and trafficking of cocaine.

Mr. Thrasher said he had reviewed actions taken by other universities before he made a decision to enact a suspension across the Greek system.
