When Donald Trump was in Moscow for the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, his longtime bodyguard Keith Schiller turned down an offer to have five women sent to the now-president's hotel room, Schiller told Congress this week. That, of course, refers to the reported "golden showers" incident, which was only one portion of the voluminous Steele dossier that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been able to partially corroborate.

One source noted that Schiller testified he eventually left Trump's hotel room door and could not say for sure what happened during the remainder of the night. On their way up to Trump's hotel room that night, Schiller told the billionaire businessman about the offer and Trump laughed it off, Schiller told the House intelligence committee earlier this week.

Three sources spoke to NBC News about what Schiller recalled about the aftermath of a meeting Trump held years ago when he was in Russian Federation to set up the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant.

'We don't do that type of stuff, ' said Schiller, who told lawmakers he thought the offer was a joke, two sources who attended the closed-door hearing told NBC.

Schiller's comments came as he disputed allegations contained in the dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele and released earlier this year. It was published days before Trump's inauguration, and contains many unconfirmed allegations against Trump and his campaign staff.

Schiller's lawyer denied leaked accounts of his client's testimony, calling them "blatantly false and misleading". He reportedly stressed that both he and Trump knew that Moscow hotel rooms could be rigged for hidden video, which dredges up memories of how Trump denied the golden showers story during a rant about germaphobia and tiny cameras.

Schiller, who is one of Trump's closest confidants, left the White House in September after serving as director of Oval Office operations.
