SpaceX warns of sonic boom ahead of Thursday launch

On October 19, U.S. defense tech and aerospace company Northrop Grumman confirmed that they commissioned SpaceX for the low-Earth orbit launch, stating that it was a government mission without disclosing further details.

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) - the government office responsible for operating spy satellites - would typically state when a satellite is theirs but will keep details of the mission secret. That's the name given to the payload SpaceX is scheduled to blast into low earth orbit from Cape Canaveral sometime between 8pm and 10pm local time Thursday, and as CNET puts it, "just about all that is known about Zuma is that it's going to help the U.S. government do. something".

"SpaceX is now targeting Thursday, Nov. 16 for launch of the Zuma mission", said SpaceX spokesman John Tayor. Although the public has many questions about the payload-codenamed "Zuma"-those working on the mission have supplied limited information".

What is known is that one of Space X's Falcon 9 rockets will be launched into low-earth orbit.
