In a letter from Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Cummings claims the whistleblower said Flynn messaged a former business colleague, whom he worked with on a project with Russian Federation to "build nuclear power plants in the Middle East", that the plan was "good to go" because the sanctions would be "ripped up" as one of Trump's first acts in office.

Cummings this week wrote a letter to Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, to ask that the whistleblower's claims be fully investigated.

Flynn had served as an adviser to two Washington-based companies pursuing efforts to build nuclear power plants in the Middle East: Copson's company, ACU Strategic Partners, which proposed a partnership with Russian interests, and IP3/IronBridge, which later began a separate endeavor that initially proposed working with China to build the infrastructure, according to federal documents and company officials.

Today, I am writing to inform you about a whistleblower who has come forward with evidence that Lt.

Conyers To Retire Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations
Reed has said Conyers' health would be the paramount consideration in whether he decides to step down from his House seat. The elder Conyers, however, continued to deny the allegations leveled against him.

"Our Committee has credible allegations that President Trump's National Security Advisor sought to manipulate the course of worldwide nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners", Cummings wrote.

Attorneys for Flynn and Copson did not immediately return email and phone requests for comment. "But the exceptionally troubling allegations in this case - combined with ongoing obstruction from the White House and others - have made this step necessary".

Mr Cummings said the source was "authentic, credible, and reliable", and offered to introduce the individual to Mr Gowdy.

That's the explosive, but unverified, allegation of a whistleblower cooperating with House Democrats probing the myriad scandals surrounding Flynn, who pleaded guilty earlier this month to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his contacts with a senior Russian diplomat. He also lied when he said he did not recall a follow-up conversation with the ambassador, who said that "Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of Flynn's request".

In return, the incoming White House would review the Obama sanctions, Flynn told him, according to the court documents filed by special counsel Robert Mueller's office.

The whistle-blower told Mr Cummings that he was attending an inaugural event on Jan 20, where he met one of Flynn's key allies on this project, Mr Alex Copson, who is described as a managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners, and was working with Flynn to promote the joint project with Russian Federation to build nuclear reactors in the Arab world. But the whistleblower says he or she could not read the actual message.

As the whistleblower chatted with Flynn's associate during an Inauguration Day celebration on January 20, Flynn sent texts saying the associate's nuclear proposal was "good to go", the whistleblower said. Copson added that "this is going to make a lot of very wealthy people".

ACU Strategic Partners has declined comment or make Mr Copson available for an interview.
