  • Google opens first machine learning research lab in Asia with 'Google AI China Center'

Google announced today it will open a lab in Beijing dedicated to researching artificial intelligence (AI).

Though Google's search engine blocked in the Chinese market along with its email, app store, cloud storage services, there are company's hundreds of staff in China working on its global services.

The new Beijing-based centre will work alongside Google's other AI clusters across the world in Zurich, London, Toronto and NY.

As we all are aware of that Apple allows some YouTube to have early access to the products and has happened with iMac Pro also. Translation: it's a hulking great mega beast with astonishing power, a lovely screen and fantastic graphics.

Google also hopes to collaborate more with domestic Chinese scientists, it said in the statement. Google said the new centre would be "working closely with the vibrant Chinese AI research community". Along with its Silicon Valley rivals, the company is approaching AI as a way to unlock new opportunities, address societal challenges and grow its business.

It's been seven years since Google Search left China, but the company is increasingly turning toward AI as a way of reentering what is the world's largest online market.

Google's announcement about the new facility in China comes after a period of speculation and a talent hunt in the country.

"Along with Dr. Jia Li, Head of Research and Development at Google Cloud AI, I'll be leading and coordinating the research", Li wrote. Fei-Fei Li joined Google previous year.

They have two games against the Dolphins and a trip to New England to play the Patriots left on their schedule. The Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts clash in snowy conditions at New Era Field in Orchard Park, NY, USA.

China has also been accused by the USA government, business groups and think tanks of trying to take short cuts in the development of its domestic industries by forcing foreign companies to hand over their intellectual property. Fei-Fei Li says this new location will work with other researchers in China to advance AI for everyone.
