Even though 2017 is nearing its end, #isaiah thomas still hasn't appeared in a single game for his new team, the #Cleveland Cavaliers. It is unclear if Thomas will travel to Canton or a collection of Charge players will come to the Cavs' practice facility in Independence, Ohio for the run.

Thomas' return is projected to be sometime within the next three weeks, with the January 3 return to the Garden circled.

Given his flair for the dramatic, and just how personal he took this entire transaction (especially from Ainge), there's no doubt that Thomas would love the chance to make his comeback in Boston, and flex on Ainge's squad for another Cavs win in the season head-to-head series.

McMenamin's update comes after Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported Thomas is striving to return by the first week of January.

All signs seems to be pointing to Thomas being on the floor for his return to the Garden if all goes well over the next two weeks in what will be perhaps the most anticipated game in the National Basketball Association this season. Thomas is then expected to play a scrimmage with the Charge, either in Cleveland or in Canton, at some point this week.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin has also reported that he's unlikely to make his season debut when the Cavaliers take on the Warriors since he won't have much time to prepare for the matchup. According to ESPN's sources, the Cavaliers want Thomas to participate in a five-on-five scrimmate with the Charge before he plays for the National Basketball Association team.

'Injuries and casualties' from Amtrak derailment
The train was reportedly travelling at more than 80 miles per hour when it derailed. "I saw a little bit of both", Konzelman said. Seven trillion dollars spent in the Middle East while our roads, bridges, tunnels, railways (and more) crumble!

A team source told ESPN that the final determination for when Thomas would play would be a joint decision agreed upon by Thomas, the Cavs' front office and the Cavs' medical staff.

Earlier in the season, there were a few rumors of Thomas possibly returning around Christmas. As long as Thomas fully recovers before the playoffs, the Cavaliers will be in a great situation.
