A Castro will be Cuba's president for at least a little longer.

Cuban President Raul Castro plans to stay in office until next April before stepping aside, two months longer than originally anticipated, which then would end almost six decades of Castro family rule of the communist country.

Initially, Feb. 24 was the date set for when the National Assembly would meet and pick the country's next president. The election for the new National Assembly was also scheduled to be held then.
