White House Denies Report That Trump Made Offensive Remarks About Immigrants

The president was reportedly referring to a document that listed how many immigrants had received visas to enter the United States in 2017.

"More than 2,500 were from Afghanistan, a terrorist haven, the president complained".

The report was leaked by someone who was at the meeting and confirmed by others who were briefed on the meeting.

"He's basically saying, 'You people of color coming to America seeking the American dream are a threat to the white people, '" said Frank Sharry, the executive director of America's Voice, a pro-immigration group and an outspoken critic of the president.

According the sources, when Trump learned 15,000 people from Haiti had been granted USA visas, he remarked: "They all have AIDS".

The Times report said Kelly and Tillerson tried to respond by saying numerous visas were for short-term travelers, but that as Trump continued, Kelly and Miller "turned their ire" against Tillerson, who threw his arms up and retorted that perhaps he should stop issuing visas altogether.
