Apple has acquired a Canadian software startup named Buddybuild to entice app developers. It is a startup company based in Vancouver. Buddybuild describes itself as a "mobile reiteration platform" that is focused on continuous integration and debugging tools, giving app developers a simple workflow to introduce their apps into the world via GitHub, GitLab or BitBucket.
According to the official Buddybuild blog, the company's team is now a part of the Xcode engineering group that builds "amazing developer tools for the entire iOS community". The company will still provide its services to existing customers, and work on building, testing and shipping iOS apps to testers.
No financial terms have been disclosed for the deal.

The company also announced that iOS developers earned $26.5 billion in 2017, up more than 30% from 2016. Furthermore, it is expected to make developing and iterating apps for iOS platforms much easier.
Apps are a key battleground for smartphone makers: they lure users to buy their devices, and when the pace of smartphone acquisition slows down as markets mature, apps increasingly become a revenue stream in their own right.
Apple further notes that Pokémon GO went back to the top of the App Store charts on December 21 with the introduction of new augmented reality features, built on Apple's ARKit framework for more detailed and realistic gameplay. Apps generated $17 billion in Q3.
Notably, shares of Apple have gained 48.5% in the past one year slightly outperforming the industry's 45.5% rally. What's more, during the week beginning on Christmas Eve, a "record number" bought or downloaded apps from the App Store, spending more than $890 million during that seven day period.
