The United States faced criticism at the UN Security Council on Friday for convening the body to discuss recent protests in Iran.
While Russia believes the UN Security Council has no business getting involved, British ambassador Matthew Rycroft said it was "right and proper - indeed, our responsibility to assess whether a situation like this could become a threat to worldwide peace and security".
Protesters in Germany called on the German government and the worldwide community to condemn what they called "mass killings" on the streets of Iran.
The Trump administration should not only stop threatening the country with more sanctions, but should also let the Iranian people decide their internal affairs for themselves.
