On Facebook's News Feed

Tweaking users' feeds may cause the social media platform to lose some of its luster for content producers or media companies, especially video makers that can not make money on Facebook regardless of how many of their videos go viral, said Cho Sodam, founder of Dotface, a youth-oriented media startup based in Seoul, South Korea.

"I'm changing the goal I give our product teams from focusing on helping you find relevant content to helping you have more meaningful social interactions", wrote Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Facebook.

Zuckerberg admitted that by making these changes, he anticipates that the time that people spend on Facebook will go down.

"And the public content you see more will be held to the same standard - it should encourage meaningful interactions between people". In real life, people don't tell others to kill themselves when they say they like pineapple on pizza.

Zuckerberg, who notoriously declares an ambitious New Year's challenge for himself each year, said last week that his focus this year would be on "fixing" Facebook's problems, which includes abuse. Since there's more public content than posts from your friends and family, the balance of what's in News Feed has shifted away from the most important thing Facebook can do-help us connect with each other. Additionally, content from news publishers and brands will be given less exposure on the news feed.

Two sought in connection to armed robbery at convenience store in Salsibury
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Salisbury Barrack at 410-749-3101. Las Vegas Metro police said they are searching for a man suspected of robbing a store on January 4.

The change was inspired by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's having children.

But even without Facebook's struggle with fake news, the changes were much needed.

He cited academic research indicating that interacting with loved ones is crucial to a person's wellbeing, while reading news articles or watching shared videos may not be. Facebook says it expects the reach of posts made by companies to decrease, but users can still find content from pages they enjoy by clicking the "Show First" option.

He added that people would be spending less time on Facebook and we feel good about it as that would make them rejoice and enjoy the little time they would spend on using or scrolling Facebook, which would eventually be good for the business.

Zuckerberg, 33, started Facebook in 2004 and still owns 17% of the company, whose share prices dropped when the news of the planned changes went public on Thursday.

Trump administration opens the way for a Medicaid work requirement
Under the Affordable Care Act, the program has expanded in more than 30 states to cover residents with somewhat higher incomes. Other states to receive approval are Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, New Hampshire, Utah and Wisconsin.

The only positive thing to come of all of this is that it may open the eyes of our elected officials, businesses and the American people who will now see Facebook for what it is: An unscrupulous media company that needs to be regulated. Then it was meaningful content that provided relevant information. Downplaying those posts from brands and businesses may put revenue at risk, said James Cakmak, an analyst at Monness Crespi Hardt & Co.

The move is likely to result in people spending less time on the leading social network.

The Portal device is rumored to be released in the second half and will start off at $499 per unit, which is significantly higher than its rivals Echo, Google Home, and Apple HomePod, but could still be lowered in order to have a better chance in the market.

One of our big focus areas for 2018 is making sure the time we all spend on Facebook is time well spent. We built...
