Adele was flanked by Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lawrence as she took to the streets alongside thousands who joined Women's Marches on the anniversary of Donald Trump's inauguration as U.S. president.
The so-called Women'sMarch onWashington was one of numerous such protest rallies waged on Saturday in hundreds of cities across the U.S. as protesters gathered on the steps of the iconic Lincoln Memorial and stood along the lengthy Reflecting Pool, also urging more women to compete for public office. The Women's March drew half a million people to Washington, DC in 2017 and millions more to satellite marches in hundreds of cities around the country, and provided a springboard to a year full of activism and resistance.
