He also acknowledged that North Korea has made rapid progress in their development of their ballistic missile program but denied recent reports that the USA intelligence community had misjudged the DPRK's capabilities on this front.

During an interview with the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank based in Washington, D.C., Pompeo told Marc A. Thiessen, "I have seen 25-year intelligence professional receive briefings".

Pompeo says he believes leader Kim Jong Un won't rest until he's able to threaten multiple nuclear attacks against the U.S.at the same time.

Despite personal warnings from Donald Trump on Twitter and in speeches, the USA has not been able so far to prevent North Korea from testing a hydrogen bomb and conducting three test launches of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) - including one that appeared capable of reaching NY or Washington.

While ackonwledging the challenge ahead and its dangers, Pompeo asserted that U.S. President Donald Trump remains committed to seeking - first and foremost - a diplomatic solution to the North Korea crisis.

Snapchat to let users share Stories elsewhere
Meanwhile, Snapchat has reported lower-than-expected 178 million daily active users in the third quarter ended September 30, 2017. What should be stressed about the new feature is that is that only certain Snapchat stories are shareable outside of the app .

"Our mission is not complete, but we have officers all around the world working diligently to make sure that we do everything we can to support the USA pressure campaign and to tighten sanctions in such a way that we have the opportunity to prevail and to achieve the president's mission, which is denuclearization of the peninsula".

Mr. Pompeo has shown a similar eagerness to express his views in public forums, making clear his skepticism of the Obama administration's deal to limit Iran's nuclear weapons program, playing down talk of Russian interference in the election previous year, and talking at length about the need to stop North Korea's nuclear program, even if that means using military force.

It comes as North and South Korea prepare to march under a joint unification flag at next month's Winter Olympics.

Trump's skepticism of the "deep state" has alarmed intelligence experts who say a working level of trust between the president and his top spies is crucial.

Volcano rains ash on Philippines as experts warn of eruption
The new development at Mayon comes after Legazpi residents were allowed to return to their homes on Thursday. Monday's explosion was the most powerful since the volcano began spewing smoke and lava a week ago.

Despite his warning, Pompeo doesn't think a North Korean attack on the United States is imminent.

The CIA's "operations are secret, its officers are consistently at the sharp end of the spear, and its actions can mean the difference between life and death", said Ned Price, a former CIA official who also served in Barack Obama's White House.

The Central Intelligence Agency assesses that North Korea will have a reliable capability to strike at the continental United States in only a few months.

"It is not a healthy thing to be a senior leader and bring bad news to Kim Jong-Un".

"We have to make sure that the information we're delivering", Pompeo said, "is delivered in a manner which he can grasp, sufficiently, to actually be able to act upon it, to provide real value".
