Tourists face jail for 'porn dance' antics in Cambodia

Police shared photos of the suspects as well as images of men and women, mostly clothed, at a party appearing to simulate sexual acts.

'Honestly, it was really confusing. Everyone was confused. They raided, rounded us up - there was about 80 to 100 people at this party, some of them were tourists. Some of them were tourists.

Most were released, but ten alleged "organisers" were held for 72 hours at the police station before appearing in court on Sunday, where they were put in pre-trial detention.

Police said Sunday Jan. 28, 2018, they raided a rented villa on Thursday and found people "dancing pornographically", and while nearly 90 foreigners were detained, all but 10 were released.

Also detained were Dutchman Job Robertus van der Wel, 22, Canadians Jessica Drolet, 25, and Eden Koazoleas, 19, Norwegian David Nikolaus Aleksandr Ballovarre, 22, and 32-year-old New Zealander Paul Martin Brasch.

An official Cambodian police statement referenced pornography and dancing in publicising the arrests.

All ten were charged today.
