  • Rejig in sales strategy: Ecommerce discounts on iPhones may soon be over

A report from Nikkei says that Apple will slash iPhone X production volume in half this quarter because of disappointing holiday-season sales.

According to Kuo, Apple will show off a new entry-level iPhone, and then two iPhone X sequels - rumoured to be called the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus.

The new devices are said to be 5.85-inch and 6.46-inch units.

Wozniacki claims maiden slam in Melbourne
Wozniacki was the top seed that year having risen to number one in the world in 2010 and she said the defeat was crushing. But I think I did pretty well with all the things that were going on. "I'm sure, eventually, it will go well for them".

Those analyses were corroborated this morning in a fresh report from the well-connected Nikkei Asian Review, which most notably tells us of Apple's latest decision to slash iPhone X production by a whopping 50 percent during the fiscal first quarter - cutting its targets from 40 million units in the to around 20 million.

Worse yet, lackluster sales could delay Apple's plans to bring OLED screens to future handsets. Both the new models are expected to have an iPhone X-lookalike design.

Apple is expected to maintain a total production target of 30 million units for lower-priced models such as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

Grassley: Chances of getting voluntary interview with Kushner 'have been shot'
In a letter Wednesday, the Justice Department warned the House Intelligence Committee's Republican chairman, California Rep. Devin Nunes, that releasing the classified memo to the public could be "extraordinarily reckless" and asked to review it.

While sales of the iPhone X have been strong in the USA, the device has reportedly failed to catch on as much globally.

One of the main reasons for the iPhone X's lackluster performance seems to be the price.

While Apple suppliers have seen little drag on earnings so far, many expect the full impact to hit in April and beyond. There are indications that the original iPhone X could reach its end of life around mid-2018 and this effective means that new iPhones could be in pipeline. But RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani believes Apple's reported iPhone sales during the past quarter will be higher than anticipated and the projections for the current quarter won't be as lacklustre as many people fear.

Mass. Rep. Kennedy to ship State of the Union response
Although it may not be her intent, Waters runs the risk of stepping on her own party's response to the president's speech - Rep. For President Obama's final response, Nikki Haley - now the United States' ambassador to the UN, - delivered the response.

Much has been said about Apple's lineup of smartphones for 2018. Presumably, Apple would continue to offer the 4.7-inch iPhone 8, but that would feature older components.
