South Korean auto major Hyundai has revealed that the company will launch its first electric vehicle for the Indian market next year.
Hyundai Motor Company today unveiled its first rendering of the upcoming All-New Santa Fe, showcasing a luxurious and striking design based on its robust, stylish and voluminous composition, which reflects Hyundai's new SUV design identity. That grille will probably look like the "cascading grille" found on the 2018 Hyundai Sonata. The Hyundai Santa Fe that was sold in India up until past year came with a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that made 197BHP of power and 421Nm of torque.
The technologies to be incorporated in the fourth-generation Sante Fe include advanced driver assistance systems and a host of safety features such as safe exit assist (SEA), rear occupant alert (ROA) and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist systems, the statement said. It keeps an eye on "the rear seats to detect passengers and alerts the driver when leaving the vehicle".
On the domestic front, Hyundai Motor will receive preorders from February 7, with the new Santa Fe to hit showrooms here on February 21. Hyundai has the Santa Fe, Kona and Tucson SUVs in its sedan-heavy lineup.
As the Santa Fe SUV is the largest model Hyundai now sells, it's important to retain a family-friendly focus with the new model.
