  • Hardcore Ferrari 488 leaked in full

The engine is also lighter, thanks to the 488 Challenge racecar - carry-over parts include Inconel exhaust manifolds, a lightweight crankshaft and flywheel, titanium connecting rods and carbon fiber intakes. The rumors say Ferrari will launch the auto at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Following yesterday's leak, Ferrari has now released official details on the hardcore version of its 488 GTB.

Samsung to slash OLED panel output as iPhone X slumps
Apple typically retains the ability to buy older models, and even the iPhone 6S can be purchased from 2014 on the website. But the company is still expected to see a profit decline for the first half of the year, compared to 2017.

The 488 Pista has lost a significant 90 kilos versus the GTB, and then on the other hand, has gained 50 horses and 10 additional Nm. According to Ferrari, the Pista's development evolved directly from the automaker's involvement in the World Endurance Championship, where it races the 488 GTE.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is revealed as Ferrari's new Special Series vehicle, complete with 711bhp from its 3.9 litre V8 turbo, a weight drop and 0-62mph in 2.85 seconds.

Canadian Trail: How Canada did today at the Olympics
But if Twitter is anything to go by, people won't be happy unless they get what they want. Still, the race for the gold medal came down to two teams a cut above the rest.

Ferrari has been as creative as usual with its names - with Pista simply translating as "track". The 488 Pista will celebrate its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. All in, these changes generate 20 percent more downforce than the standard 488. It is claimed to do zero to 100 kmph in just 2.85 seconds and can run to 200 kmph in a highly impressive 7.6 seconds.

It weighs an equally impressive 90kg less than the 488 GTB, tipping the scales at 1280kg dry. Additionally, the rear blown spoiler is higher and longer and the shape has been optimised, resulting in 20 per cent increase in downforce compared to the 488 GTB. SSC 6.0 incorporates all the following systems: E-Diff3, F1-Trac, the magnetorheological suspension (SCM) and, for the first time ever, the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer. This is a computer controlled system that adjusts brake pressure to control yaw angles, and without getting too technical, it's basically supposed to make even the most ham-fisted of us look like a driving ace behind the wheel.

The 488 special edition wasn't expected to be officially revealed until Geneva, but Maranello has been scrambling to plug leaks for months now, with images and technical information seeping out since late a year ago. Ferrari Design used innovative elements, such as the aerodynamic S-Duct at the front, as an opportunity to visually shorten the car's nose, creating an original floating wing effect.
