Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the much awaited two-day Uttar Pradesh Investors' Summit 2018 in the city today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other 18 Union Ministers, along with more than 100 business men and women are going to take part in UP Investors Summit that is being held in Lucknow.

"Uttar Pradesh has values and virtues, but it also needs value addition", the prime minister said, lauding the new policy "One district One Product" of the Yogi government and said that it could prove to be a game changer.

"The investors' summit is an opportunity to showcase Uttar Pradesh's potential".

Mukul Singhal, Principal Secretary, Textiles, Uttar Pradesh government, talked about the key points of the state's new handloom policy in his address.

He said that Uttar Pradesh could compete with Maharashtra, which had set itself a target of becoming the first trillion-dollar state economy. He said the group would continue to be the top investor in the state and added that the company would invest Rs 25,000 crore in multiple businesses in next five years.
