  • Transgender wrestler Mack Beggs is booed after second straight state title win | Fort Worth Star-Telegram

He receives low-level testosterone injections and wants to wrestle against boys. He is allowed to take the testosterone, even though State and UIL rules prohibit their use by high school athletes, because they are "dispensed, prescribed, delivered and administered by a medical practitioner for a valid medical objective". In his case, it describes him as a girl, even though he started making the transition from female to male in freshman year.

"The birth certificate rule was approved in 2016 by the University Interscholastic League - the governing body for Texas high school sports", Fox News reported. Beggs posed. "I can tell the state Legislature to change the policy, but I can't tell them to change it right now".

His mom, Angela McNew, said that Beggs isn't trying taking advantage of the girls he is forced to wrestle simply to have an easier path to a state title.

"He has so much respect for all the girls he wrestles", McNew said.

Beggs has request a number of times to compete in the boys division but has been denied. "They're saying, 'steroids.' They're saying, 'Oh, they're beating up on girls, '" he said.

Central AL Forecast: Severe Weather Threat Over for Sunday
Shower and storm activity will continue through Sunday morning and potentially into early afternoon for Eastern Kentucky. On the low end we could see some central Alabama locations like Alexander City and Clanton with highs near 60.

"The UIL is not in the gender-determining business and schools don't want to be either", UIL deputy director Jamey Harrison told the Associated Press.

Many in the crowd booed, however, when the steroid-pumped girl defeated her opponent in the last bout in about 10 seconds and was declared state champion.

"It's a statement to other kids that you can do this, and that you can do anything you want to do", she said.

A Texas, transitioning, teen transgender wrestler won her second state title Saturday, which sparked further concern among parents and competitors over the competition's fairness.

State law puts Beggs in an awkward position.

Many parents have been outraged to see their daughters wrestling someone who, effectively, has the strength of a young man.

The solitude allowed him to concentrate on the task ahead and perhaps shield him from attacks on social media and occasional insults from the stands - or even other wrestling mats - during meets. "It all comes down to technique and who has the most heart".

This season, Beggs has gone 36-0 with just one forfeit and no lawsuits.

Texas has a new two-time high school wrestling champion.
