M*A*S*H actor David Odgen Stiers dies at age 75

David Ogden Stiers, best known for his role as Major Charles Emerson Winchester in the TV comedy M.A.S.H., died Saturday, aged 75.

Aside from his Emmy-nominated role in M*A*S*H, Stiers was known for his prodigious voicework, including the aforementioned Cogsworth as well as Governor Ratcliffe and Wiggins in Pocahontas, Jumba in Lilo and Stitc, Kamaji in Spirited Away and various superheroic characters in comic-book animations, among others. The CBS sitcom, which was set during the Korean War, is one of the most watched TV shows of all time.

Disney The actor provided the the voice of a number of classic Disney characters including Beauty And The Beast's Cogsworth.
