Apple is reportedly working on headphones to rival its own Beats

AirPods have seemingly been a big success story for Apple. The company is allegedly manufacturing their first pair of high-end over-ear headphones, which will effectively provide further competition with brands like Bose and Beats By Dre, which they now own. Apple is said to be readying this new product launch for the end of the year, although, supposed development issues could be a factor in an otherwise tentative release date.
Much like the HomePod, the development of Apple's over-ear headset has been an on-again, off-again affair over the past year. A recent Bloomberg report indicated that the upgraded Apple AirPods will be released this year and come equipped with a new wireless chip that will allow you to summon Siri by talking to the AirPods, making the interaction hands-free.

The report says that Apple has struggled with the design of the headphones. People are willing to a pay a premium for a high-end product but once crossing a certain price barrier, consumers feel as if they are overpaying. Apple purchased Beats for $3 billion in 2014, and Beats has been Apple's main headphone brand until the introduction of AirPods.
Apple has not released AirPods' exact sales numbers; the product has been lumped in with Apple Watch and other products in the "Other Sales" category.

The Redskins' single-season passing yards leader has been linked to teams such as the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings . Most of those teams are thinking short-term deals, potentially three years, with a very high guarantee in the contract.
Apple's headphone ambitions put it in a collision course with already-popular brands like Sony, Samsung, and Sony - and Apple's own Beats by Dre. On the contrary, the headphones are expected to follow the footsteps of AirPod and will feature a similar set of features as well. Aside from noise-canceling functionality, the new headphones will reportedly have similar wireless pairing functionality to the AirPods.
There's no word on when the headphones will arrive.
