Netanyahu's symptoms include high fever and coughing and are apparently due to complications of a streptococcal throat infection, a correspondent for the Israeli daily Haaretz reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be released shortly from hospital after doctors found that he was suffering from a mild respiratory illness, his office said in a statement on Tuesday.

Netanyahu fell ill in mid-March and cancelled his public schedule for five consecutive days.
