Yemen's Houthis announce missile attack on Riyadh

Saudi state media said air defence forces had intercepted a missile over the capital.

Witnesses in Riyadh report hearing two or three loud blasts, according to Reuters and AFP.

A total of 18 Houthi rebels were killed and almost 30 others injured in the gunbattles with the national army forces in southwestern city of Taiz, according to a statement revealed by the media center of the pro-government forces in the city. Videos that have emerged on Twitter also show clouds of smoke in the sky, where the missile was allegedly intercepted.
