United Nations chief slams Saudi airstrike on Yemeni wedding

He had been leaving a university in the Red Sea port city of Al Hudaydah when he and his entourage were targeted by three air strikes, Abdel-Malik al-Houthi, the group's leader, said in a televised address. The rebels' Supreme Political Council said Saleh al-Samad was killed in the coastal Hodeida province on Thursday.

The conflict is widely considered a proxy war between the Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi Arabia, the Shiite theocracy's main regional rival.
