Bill Clinton says he doesn't owe Monica Lewinsky a personal apology

  • Bill Clinton says Barack Obama enjoyed favorable press coverage partly because of his race

"The suggestion was that I never apologized for what caused all the trouble for me 20 years ago", Clinton said. "I think I did the right thing [by staying in office]. I defended the Constitution", he said of his decision to fight his impeachment and not resign.

In an interview with NBC's Today that aired on Monday, Clinton was asked to reevaluate the scandal through the lens of the #MeToo movement and comment on whether he'd approach the fallout differently today. "So, I just disagree with her".

Lewinsky's narrative of her affair with Clinton has found resonance in the age of Trump, mostly through media. "The apology was public".

The interview was meant to promote Mr Clinton's new fictional thriller "The President Is Missing", written with best-selling author James Patterson.

Former President Bill Clinton applauded former President Barack Obama's time in office but agreed that the "political press" favored him because he was the first president who was African-American.

The Economic Risks of Trump's Premature Tweeting
In the span of time between when Trump posted his tweet and when the jobs report was released, USA treasury yields shot up. But administration officials never appeared to comment before the report came out as Trump did on Friday.

In a Vanity Fair essay published in March, she wrote about how she is just now beginning to understand how power dynamics played into the relationship. As Jezebel points out, it was NBC News anchor Craig Melvin's questions about whether or not the #MeToo movement changed the way he sees his affair with the 22-year-old intern that agitated the 71-year-old. Clinton was later impeached following a lengthy investigation into the case. "He was 27 years my senior, with enough life experience to know better".

On Twitter, activist Rose McGowan, who helped trigger the #MeToo movement, said she believed Mr Clinton owed everyone an apology, including Ms Lewinsky.

But critics were "omitting facts" and grouping him in with those accused of harassment, he said. "If the facts were the same today, I wouldn't", he added.

He also said that allegations of sexual harassment and assault against President Donald Trump have not "gotten anything like the coverage that you would expect".

At the time of the scandal, Clinton attributed his affair with Lewinsky to sin and repentance after lying under oath.

We almost won 7-year Syrian war, says Assad
Assad told the interviewer he had no nickname for Trump because "This is not my language, so, I can not use similar language". We have never had them and we can't hide them. "We will not allow Iran to arm itself with nuclear weapons".

Democrats had wondered how Clinton, once a hot commodity on the campaign trail, would take on questions about the #MeToo movement and his history. "I left the White House with $16 million in debt".

"Do you feel like you owe her an apology?" the NBC reporter asked.

"The truth is, the hubbub was I got hot under the collar", Clinton explained. Clinton asked Melvin. "Do you think President Johnson should have resigned?"

"I don't think there is a fancy way to say that I have sinned".
